What happened to the days of Ol'

Use to be in the older days gone by (has it really been that long ago) when Momma said NO that was the end of things. Now when Momma says no, it seem to have a new meaning of Go Ahead. Don't bother listening to me.

Told the youngest daughter (yes I know she is 19 but that is still teen) that she could not go to San Antonio to be with her boyfriend. She had the regular flu earlier in the week and was feeling better by Thursday. So let's get on a crowded bus that could have at least several people infected with the H1N1 flu and let's get sicker. Yea. Getting sicker sounds like a mature thing to do.

If my mom said NO I always asked Dad even though I knew his answer. Go ask your mother. Whatever she says is ok by me. Wisdom and years of marriage later I know the real thing behind the answer. "Don't get me to go against your mother. She'll make my life miserable for a week or more if I said yes and she said no." Gee, I can almost hear my dad's voice.
