Wow, what a weekend!
Wes surprised Jason and I with a wonderful Saturday outing. We drove to Prairie View/Hempstead, Texas to watch a civil war reenactment. One of the best Saturdays I have had in a long time. Lots of children, lots of boy scouts, women and children dressed in the appropriate dress of the day. Vendors galore. I talked for a lengthy time to a blacksmith. He had a trove of information for me. Jason saw lots of horses, cows and loads of dogs. Big dogs, little dogs and puppies. Can you believe that I took 352 photos? They are posted on my gallery site. //gallery.me.com/storyspider/100102

Are you ready to snap yer fingers, slap yer knees, take your girl for a spin on the grass to the music of Jon Christopher Davis & the Lone Star Attitude on September 1? Davis has written songs in Nashville for years. He has worked with such talents as Toto’s Steve Lukather, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Stan Lynch, Billy Ray Cyrus, Hal Ketchum and Dolly Parton and many more. Davis has now moved back to Texas, signing with a new label, Palo Duro Records, an Indie company. Catching the attention of USA Today music critic, Robert K Obermann, Robert had this to say, “I’m a huge fan of this man’s album.” You won't want to miss this event.
