Friday Writing Muse

It is really strange and wonderful at the same time how a character comes to you and bugs you to write his story. If you have never had this happen to you before, you are at a loss as to what the experience really is. I feel sorry for your having the missed experience. My muse is a guy, a rough and tumble kind of fellow. Extremely tall. He tells me that he is almost as tall as a tree. I laughed at him. I wish he would talk to me long before I am ready for bed. Apparently he is a night person because he always shows up when I lay my head down. Then he talks, talks and talks some more. I have to give in or he will keep bugging me and so I get back up and write down what he tells me. I have had to do 6 rewrites because "I" do not get it. My first writing or story starter was actually a background, a history of sorts of his background. I thought it was the first two paragraphs of the story. So I tucked it away for later use. Might come in handy later in the story.

Then last night he got the heroine to "talk" to me. Seems that she needed to bury some guy that someone found in the swamp, half of his body gone and the other half, the found half had all sorts of cuts and holes, crab marks probably if you were to ask me. So I wrote that in a hurry last night at 12:03 am and polished it up this afternoon and subsmitted it for crits.

I wonder who will wake me up tonight..the priest, the blacksmith who had to build a cast iron coffin for this fellow. Or maybe it will be the dead guy, spilling his beans.
