Christmas should be a happy, joyous time. Christmas can be a sad, unhappy time. Flip side of the coin. Coin spins and how it lands is a stroke of luck. You either have a good Christmas or a bad Christmas. Can you have both? At the same time?
Sure you can. It is rather easy to do in fact. You can have a happy time with just a twinge of sad time or you can have a really bad time with only a little happy time. Yet, it can be totally a happy time or Christmas can be really be an unhappy time.
Family relationships figure into this heavily. A family member dies, relationships with loved ones become more strained or someone can't make it home like they thought they could. I am sure that family with a love one over in Iraq or some other hostile anti-american nation have more to be concerned about than I do over the family relationships going south. But the end result is the same. We want our family members home with us, safe and sound and loving.
