Ok, you can start laughing at me again

I suppose, all things considering, even after I purchased Mr. Barney and his wife, the pg Mrs. Barney, their own feeder I should have known that they would eat out of both feeders. Yes, I still hear you chuckling over that one.

However, I still didn't see this coming. The lovely cedar house in the pic is currently out of order. Not only have Mr and Mrs Barney gotten under the roof, they ate large portions of said roof. Ripped the cedar bark off one underneath side. The other roof line also has teeth marks on it. I did briefly consider the puppy having gotten ahold of it but that idea no longer appeal to me.

I found the house portion laying on the ground with the roof separated from the bottom by about 3 or 4 feet. In looking at the damage, the twine that was such a pretty braided piece had been eaten in two pieces just above the staples that had attached one side to the other. As seen in the pic above.

I guess I will get another bird feeder container. I will be more aspiring to find one that can not be eaten, if there is such a thing.

Mr. Barney

I thought I was being rather smart about squirrels. That I would be up one on Mr. Barney. You see, hear me chuckle, I thought that if I purchased Mr. Barney his own squirrel (I can hear you laughing already), house with food, he would naturally leave the bird feeder alone.

Ok, so I was wrong. You don't have to laugh that hard. It was a honest wrong way of thinking. Yes, Mr. Barney first ate out of the bird feeder then finished off the squirrel food as his breakfast snack.

You can stop laughing now.

Mr. Barney's Visit

Got Wes to hang the new bird feeder in the tree by the bedroom windows. Thought I would just sit in the computer all cozy with the ac on, look out the window and just enjoy the birds as they fly up to eat.

But I spoke too soon. The first and second day that the feeder was up, Mr. Barney moved from the back yard to the front yard. I often talk to him in the back yard and it seemed that he knew I was watching him on my bird feeder. How do I know this? Which way is he facing? Of course, the bed room window. Is he mocking me. Is he daring me to come out and run him off the feeder?

Well, he is not getting me out in the hot sweltering heat of a Texas May weather! Nay I say unto you. Not going to yank me out into the heat.

Back at the Old Grind

I like this pic of Aflac with his webbed foot in the air fixing to take a step towards me. There are other pictures of the Bear Creek Park Aflac which looks like he is strutting or parading around me. Of course, he is disappointed in the fact that I had no food with which to throw.

Husband had off today and he has spent part of the day being mad or rather upset with me. We went to two businesses (tractor supply place and Wally World) and he complained that we were spending all day out. Two hours does not make a day. He did work on the van putting on a air filter and probably some other stuff as well. He unloaded the Wally World food that we purchased and went to snooze on the couch.

I purchased a cedar bird feeder. I hope to get it up in the tree by the bedroom window. I think I would love to see what birds (other than the doves, black birds, sparrows and the mocking bird) would come to eat. I would also love to capture some of the birds with my camera.
