What are you doing tonight?

What are you doing tonight? Wish I could see you, be with you. We would have gone this weekend to see Santa. I know what I would wish Santa to bring me. What would you wish for?

Your dad tricked your mom into coming home. You and her arrived on the 12th of November. He would not let her call me to tell me yall were home. He picked you and her up from the airport and you went to see your pawpaw. He died a week later and that is how I found out that you were here.

Your dad has your mom under house arrest. She can not even go to the bathroom without him standing by the door.

I don't know what you dad will tell you as you grow up. But I am putting this out in hopes you will discover this blog in an archive somewhere. Now that you are back here, here are the rules your dad has said. 1. I can not have you and your mom over here together. You can be here or your mom can be here. Just can't be together. That's even true for Thanksgiving. 2. I have seen you once but your dad did let you spend the night. We played in the bathtub with the dog looking on. I thought for awhile the dog was going to climb into the tub with you but he was content to just watch you play. 3. Your aunt Morgan wanted to see you (she had not seen you in a long time) but your dad said no. The day before was your mawmaw's birthday so you had to spend the next day with her. So Morgan drove over and went in to see you, hug you and kiss you. Your mawmaw and daddy thought your Aunt Morgan was going to take you (I don't know why they thought this) and your mawmaw snatched you up. Morgan wasn't allowed to hold you. So Morgan came out to the car and told me this. She goes back in to give you a kiss and to see if she can give you a hug. I was in the car as this was just going to take a few minutes and I carried on a nice conversation with your Uncle Ray about his car wreck and his purchase of his new but used car. Well, to make a some story shortened, Morgan was accused to trying to steal you away and I was in the getaway car with the motor running (it was turned off). No sense in wasting gas with the price of gas over 2.50 a gallon.

I pray to God that you stay safe and do not grow up like them. I hope I am still living when you can or do decide to look us up. I love you. Grandmommy

Where oh where are you tonight?

I am reminded of the HeeHaw television show where country music celebs sang this song< "Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? Thought I found true love..." It keeps playing over and over in my head. If you have followed the blog, you know that my daughter and her 17 month old son left. Each day that passes and it gets closer to the holidays I wonder where they are and what they are doing. I miss them. I want to see them now.

Where are you? Are you safe? Are you eating good? Are you having plenty of milk to go in your bottle? How much have you grown? What new words are you saying now?

Your grandpaw on your dad's side has not recovered from his operation that he had at the beginning of September. I wish he could see just one more time. His time is now limited to days and hours. He loves you a lot. His hospital room is decorated with lots of your pictures. He misses you. He loves you.

So do grandaddy and I.

Return to Love

In my blog last week, I said that I was going to take a picture of my great nieces' book that was just published. Well, it took me a week to doing just that. Here it is!

Betsy St. Amant is the authors' name and of course, the niece that I speak of. The genre is Christian romance fiction. There is already a sequel being written and is due out I think in February, but don't quote me on that. Takes place in New Orleans so the books if full of New Orleans charm. Don't we all love the spirit of New Orleans?

Wal-Mart carries the book as well as Barnes and Noble. I have already purchased two, one for me and one for one of my best friends who was laid up in the hospital for a week in ICU. So run to the store and get one for yourself. Hurry.
