I feel like shrimp


With Ike and Katrina, the Louisiana Shrimping industry is hurting. Many of the ports that the boats use to dock and unload are gone. Those of us that grew up on shrimp as a staple, know that there is a huge taste difference between "home grown" and the imported shrimp. HUGE!

When I fix our traditional dishes that call for shrimp, it just is not the same as when you use local shrimp. Well, I feel like shrimp this weekend. If the weather is good, I just might boil up some. Or maybe fix shrimp creole.

I like to that shrimp, peel all but the tail and soak it in chili sauce for several hours. Then wrap a piece of bacon around it and broil in the oven. Great to snack on. Bet you can't eat just one!
