Millie Bush Dog Park

The dog park parking lot was nearly full by the time we got there. We went around 5 pm which was really a perfect time as far as the weather and heat are concerned. As normal, all kinds of dogs were there. I didn't see any Great Danes but saw some dogs that were bigger in body and probably the same height. One was a Bull Mastiff.

He came out of the pool's water in slow motion. I could hear the theme song to Chariots of Fire. Water pouring off him in streams. I stood amazed as this huge dog came out of the water. I couldn't move, could only stare. Out of the pool now, he dropped the ball. His body began to shake the water off. Everyone that was close to him, well, let's say they had to go home and shower the doggie smell off of them.

It took Buddy awhile to get into the water. He was barking at some person to throw the ball into the pool of water and he would go in but not get the ball. Finally he do go in and that was all he wanted to do.

Kobe, on the other hand, being his first time at a dog park, was so excited he could not make up his mind what he wanted to do first. Thoughts ranged in his head...Do I run here with this dog or run there with that dog?...What's this water thing about?....Can I pee here..oops. Sorry, I didn't make it to the grass...What's this smell... Oh, it's poo. Who's poo is it?

I think it was one of the best days of his life. Just wasn't thrilled with the cold water bath afterwards.

Kobe

Well, the daughter went off to San Antonio to look at a few colleges over there. Instead she brought him home.

Mom, he is going to be a small dog. He is a beagle mix. Does he look small to you in this picture? He is now about 10 months old. The neighbor said tonight that every time she sees him. he has grown a foot taller. "Have you ever measured him from the ground up" she asked.

I don't think he is a beagle either. The white area of his coat is black spots. He has lots of loose skin so I am wondering how big is he actually going to get.

That was suppose to be the baby grandson's pool. As you can see, Kobe has taken it over. He adores it. Guess we will have to get the grandson another pool next year. Knowing Kobe, he'll take over that one too.

Getting back into the grove

Yea, I know the picture is blurry. But I still think its a cute picture. It is often to get a 15 month old to sit still for a picture, Just ask the picture taking people at WalMart or Penny's.

Anyway, the dog had cut a chunk of pad off his paw and bled all over the carpet. Bloody footprints all through the house until I could corner the dog and take care of him.

Well, blood on the carpet has to come up. So out comes the carpet washer vacuum cleaner. Well, the grandson tolerates the regular vacuum cleaner but no way did he like the carpet cleaner. I actually thought that the carpet cleaner was more quiet than the vacuum.

Buddy's increasing family

Why me? I was a really happy dog being the only one in the family. I had everyone's attention, affection, etc., etc. Then the boyfriend bought home a Beagle mix (poor thing seems to have a Pug tail) puppy. Now I even have to growl over my food. After I walk away, that big pawed thing, so lazy is he, he lays down to finish off my food. Then proceeds to eat his! He is only 4 months old...where does all the food go? He even has the nerve to poo and pee on my exact spot on the carpet!!!

Then the grandbaby and his mother move back in and they bring in their dog. Will it never end?
